Arte y Vida Chicago actually does a pretty good job on making their site accesible and easy to find information. Their main URL home page is simple and explains the website. Their Meta tag explain briefly and accurately what their website provides. In searching chicago latin art events, Arte Y vida come in second right under mexican museum of fine art. One thing however, they did not have an alt option for their pictures posted on their pages. On a couple of their pages, i was unable to see the pictures and a little description of the picture can be put for when this happens. Arte y Vida also does not provide a site map to help me go to a page I am looking for or subject. They do have each page with a unique title which makes it easier for searching. Another great tool in which they provide is a search bar where we can type in specific words and have articles that have those words in it. I also tried going on the website on my phone to see if it was mobile compatible and arte y vida definitely need to work on this. It displays the page as regular HTML and arte y vida should make it easily accessible and readable for mobile. Over all, their page is pretty much good. They provide unique urls with common searchable words.

This guide supplies examples and instructions on how to use features that are on Facebook to market your organization. There are different icons that apear on the “tool” bar and many do not know what they stand for. Fenton Twitter Guidebook

March 4, 2012

This guidebook is easy and understandable. I know from my personal experience, when i first began to use twitter, I had no idea how to use it. I didn’t know what to post or the purpose of it. At first i began to use it like a FB, but then a friend had to explain it to me. This guidebook is great especially when training to those who are not familiar with social media or are just beginning. I didn’t even know certain rules existed and i learned great tips on how to keep the page professional. This guidebook enables those who do not understand social media the purpose of twitter and how it is different from Facebook. it is definitely great to have and distribute to employees/team.

Piano Staircase by Volkswagon

February 25, 2012

With this “fun theory” I believe volkswagon was trying to educate and entertain their audiences. Their goal was to demonstrate that peoples lazy behavior by showing them the fun side of acting environmental responsible, all while entertaining them at the same time. I also believe they were trying to inform and persuade people to take the stairs instead of the escalators to benefit not only the environment, but also demonstrate that one simple change can contribute to a better healthy  lifestyle,

The Fun Theory is dedicated demonstrating that something as simple as “fun” is the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better. For volkswagons brand, it created tremendous exposure. Even though it had nothing to do with cars or automobiles, the logo is definitely recognizable. Volkswagon wanted to create more exposure of their brand in a fun way that people will be able to remember their logo. This was definitely a smart , fun and different way to spread their brand and to have people remember it in a way that ALL people can connect to.

Trends

Awareness of trends in social media platforms is important. The use of Facebook has increased and continues to compete with Twitter as the number one marketing platform. The use of YouTube will increase for future efforts, especially business with the people and resources to do it. If marketers have more time, they put it into YouTube and blogs.

Blogs are important and can be a very successful social media tool. They take more time and skill, and if created correctly, they’re very effective. If a business has a good blog, it sets them apart.

As a regular user of Groupon and Geolocation, it was interesting to…
